A would-be holdup artist at a New Orleans convenience store first robbed the clerk and then turned and ordered a customer to hand over his wallet and watch, too. The customer did so, and then followed the departing robber into the parking lot. The customer retrieved a handgun from his car and ordered the robber to stop. Instead, the robber turned and opened fire, before being wounded by the citizen’s return fire.
The wounded robber was taken into custody and faces drug and robbery charges when he’s recovered enough to stand trial.
