Find It Fast

CaptureIn surveying our readers, we have found that many—if not most—keep each issue of S.W.A.T. for future reference. The problem, however, is looking through each issue to find a particular column or article.

While most folks read each issue from cover to cover, almost everyone has a favorite subject—and we try to cover as many bases as possible. From firearms to gear reviews and from training and tactics to survival, you’re sure to find something that piques your interest.

Back by popular demand, this issue features an index of every article that appeared in 2012, so your favorites will be easy to find. The categories include the departments Lawful Carry, Against All Odds, Long Guns, The Cutting Edge, and Offbeat, along with our two ongoing series Off The Grid and Shoot ‘n’ Save. Feature articles are listed in categories that comprise Weapons and Accessories, Tactics, and Training.

By the time you read this, we hope Hurricane Sandy will be a distant memory to everyone in the Northeast. But as I write this, the damage from that storm is dominating news coverage. We appreciate the support we’ve gotten from the majority of readers for our Off the Grid series, but for those who question why we started it, there’s your answer. Whole towns without power for up to two weeks, houses blown apart, ground floors flooded, transportation in major metro areas ground to a halt, store shelves empty, and gasoline unavailable. This isn’t the first time a natural disaster has caused major devastation and it won’t be the last. One of Sandy’s lessons is that it can happen anywhere, even New York City. Off the Grid exists to provide practical, actionable information that helps readers get ready for extreme situations. The next disaster may affect you, so start preparing now.

In January 2013, S.W.A.T. Magazine will again be an exhibitor at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Several staff members and contributing authors will be in attendance. There will be a lot of new firearms and gear coming down the pike this year, and in these pages you can expect to read complete, honest evaluations on some of the more interesting products. If you will be attending SHOT, stop by and say hello to us at booth number 27302.

Until next time, stay low and watch your back.
